Natural Ant Control by Controlling Food Sources

Ants don’t gather anywhere unless there is food. If you store your food carefully, you won’t attract unwanted guests.

• Store food in tightly sealed containers at all times.
• Do not leave food in open bags or penetrable bags.
• Jars without sealing gaskets can permit ants to enter through the threads, so replace any that you find with the above mentioned containers.
• Clean the crumbs and jelly globs out of your toaster or toaster oven every morning.
• Wipe down all surfaces daily, like counters that may collect crumbs.
• Sweep or vacuum the kitchen floor frequently.
• Rinse out empty containers before throwing them in the trash.
• Don’t throw away organic material in your inside trash without sealing it up.
• Keep your trash can lined with a bag and locked down tight.
• Scrub your trash cans periodically.
